Day Six
Day Six we were basically just sight seeing around Seoul.. everything was a stone's throw away..
We drove around Seoul and passed by the palace which is under renovation cuz it got distroyed by the Japs i think.. hmm.. too bad we didn't get to see it.. but we did get to see the president's home tho! hahaaa.. but the main attraction wasn't the presidents home.. rather it was the police men!!
This is a police man.. can you believe it?!
The president's house.. i think.. haha
After that we headed to the Namsangol Traditional Garden which wasn't too far away.. this time when we were there, they were holding a traditional ceremony of some sort.. there were those big swings where your legs are tied to the wooden part at the bottom and you get pushed vvvvery very high up.. looked like fun! and there was a traditional performance as well.. all this is for Duan Wu Jie ( the dumpling festival.. remember?) heh.. there were many TV stations there as well so we might have been on Korean national tv!!! hahahhaaa!!!
The performance
This garden is actually a replica of a traditional Korean village.. =) it shows the way they lived in the olden days.. quite interesting!
Ooo! a princess used to live here!
This is where they cook!
The sauces they made..
aparently this was their answer for a fridge in the olden days.. they would dig a hole in the ground and put these jars in..
Next, we headed for lunch! GINSENG CHICKEN. its a spring chicken with its cavity dug out and filled with glutonous rice, red dates and ginseng..and you have to pour ginseng wine on the chicken before you split it apat.. mmmmm..... it was quite nice.. not bad.. =)
Ginseng Chicken
The Ginseng wine was quite strong.. hahaa..
After lunch, we went to Nandaemoon and this other street.. i forgot the name.. but its like Orchard road.. Branded stuff all over the place... but we went to this really busy street where there were many road side carts.. it was really bustling with activity.. guess what my sis and i attacked first?
ICE CREAM! its a 30+ cm tall ice cream!
Busy busy street!
after 2 hours of walking around we ended up all hot and sweaty! btw.. the Misscha and The Face Shop there are ULTRAAAA cheap! one nail polish is about $1.6 and the eye shadow about $2+... Cheap right?!?!
we headed for dinner at some chinese restaurant and then for a theatre show, JUMP. which is coming to S'pore soon! you should really go watch its a martial arts comic performance.. it was realllllllly funny! hahahaaaa!! and you should see how high they can jump! and when they jump you can really see that when they reach the highest point they remain there for a second or two!! go catch it!!
